I love hushpuppies.

Did you go to my mom's house for dinner instead? Because that menu sounds just like one of her dinners. For real. Where the fried pickles in spears or slices? They're my favorite.

Why scathing? Looks yum to me (although my arteries are hardening just reading this).

I want, no I need, that dessert!

What are hushpuppies? For us it was a brand for shoes many years ago and a sad face of a long ears doggy was their logo.

Heather, you don't seem to be getting on a diet for the upcoming summer!!!!!! What a menu!!!!! Hope you enjoyed it♥

That all looks like jsut what I need for a heavy brunch. Never had fried pickles. Im getting all hot and bothered thinking about roasted bannana ice cream with choco beignets.

Tammy - haha you're right, it was terrible! :P

Emiline - The hushpuppies were my undoing - I could barely get the through the entree because I filled up on those!

Nikki - The pickles were in slices, but they were house-made zucchini pickles. They weren't what I was expecting, but they were awesome!

Jen - That was meant to go with a wink - Simpatica is one of my top 3 restaurants.

Judy - The dessert was fucking insane. I put salted almonds on top of mine.

Núria - Hushpuppies are small dumplings of cornmeal batter that are fried. They are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and I like to eat mine with hot sauce.

Court - The dessert was crazy good. I'm giving serious consideration to picking up an ice cream machine.

Wow! Sounds great - we had a porky weekend too - dinner at a Puerto Rican friend's house where it was all about the pork and then a Rib festival here in downtown St. Augustine! :)

Where's the booze? Cause if you don't have some Dixie beer in there, I'm out.

We drank hurricanes, then switched to bourbon and Coke (Scott had some of the wine pairings).

I will put up the photos tonight!
